Description
Subjects were 'elf and crane' with cultural influences in the drawings. It was for an assignment So I tried experimenting to break out of the norm of what I do with my colouring style.
So what do I do?
I ATTEMPT TO PAINT EVERYTHING IN DESATURATED FORM AND USE DESATURATED TEXTURE.
No, seriously. I have this weird tendency to saturate everything automatically. Without Photoshop toggling mind you >_>; Its quite amusing seeing as my pictures are never bright and happy themed.
I tried to mix the style of and styles of Japanese ukiyo-e with the designs you see on Furisode kimonos. That and the animation 'Mononoke' has really gotten to me XD;
I was going for the enigmatic slightly in-and-out-of-dream look. Am I making any sense? I don't think I am oAo;
OMG the million and one times I kept putting colours that were too saturated X_x;;; It was a real battle of will seeing as I kept on resorting to what I'm comfortable with. Textures are credit to random sites I found them on though the blue butterfly one is one I scanned in myself. That was something I had on hand. The rest were painted in or mixed in.
Medium : Copic Multiliner 0.05 and 0.1, Small brush pen, Photoshop CS2
Time : about 4 to 5 hours
